Reford C. Theobold has served the community in many ways over the years, including 18 years on the City Council from 1985 to 2003. He is self-employed as the owner of TNT Promotions, selling advertising time and products.

Theobold's great grandfather first came to Colorado in the 1870s as part of the silver boom. The family eventually homesteaded in Delta County in the 1890s, and moved to Mesa County in the 1930s. Reford graduated from Fruita Monument High School and has two degrees from Mesa State College.

In addition to the City Council, Theobold has served on the MSC Alumni Association (and two years as President), the Walker Field Airport Authority (one year as President), the Lower Valley Chamber of Commerce (one year as President), the Grand Junction Housing Authority, and is a Past President of the Grand Junction Lions Club. He is also served five years on the GJ Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

In brief, Theobold is a fiscal conservative. He believes in a common sense approach to land use. Theobold is particularly intersted in weighing the long term impacts of current decisions, whether zoning, traffic or adopting a budget. He also supports maintaining and expanding city parks.
